On episode 47 of the show we are joined by Dmitry Polyansky, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations. Polyansky has been working in the system of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1993. He had worked on Middle Eastern issues, and relations between Russia and the European Union. In 2008, Polyansky became a minister-counselor at the Russian Embassy in Poland. Then in 2011, he served as Deputy Director of the First Department of the CIS Countries of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, overseeing Eurasian economic integration. In 2013, Polyansky was awarded the diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Second Class. Since 2015, he has served as head of the Representative Office of the Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission for Economic and Cultural Cooperation. Subsequently, in 2018, Dmitry Polyansky took the position of Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations in New York. In the same year, by Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, he was awarded the diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, First Class.
